Description

Early acquarel of the beach at Double Bay, Sydney. Middle Head and North Head in the distance, as well as several threemasters. A small cottage is on the left, and the image is composed around a small party in the centre.

Signed and dated in the lower right: "Double Bay Sydney W.H. Walsh 1853".

Walsh is recorded as a friend and sketching companion of Conrad Martens.
